She has co-authored over 140 peer reviewed publications and is known for her expertise in small molecule X-ray crystallography. She is chair of the Canadian National Committee for Crystallography, the organizer for our national Canadian Chemical Crystallography Workshops, a member of the International Union for Crystallography Calendar Sub-Committee (which considers requests for IUCr sponsorship and nominal financial support for meetings). She is also a main editor for the IUCr publication Acta Crystallographica Section B: Structural Science, Crystal Engineering and Materials and a teaching and education editor for the Journal of Applied Crystallography. She is excited to be co-chairing the International Program Committee for the 2026 IUCr Congress and General Assembly, which will be hosted in Calgary, Canada!
In 2014 she received Laurier’s Residence Academic Partner Award, in 2016 she received Laurier’s Early Career Award for Teaching Excellence and in 2023 she received Laurier’s Established Career Award for Teaching Excellence.
Louise has a lot of enthusiasm for teaching and crystallography!
